Education and research in the discipline of Public Health form an important component of activities at AMREP.
The leading groups and their specialties are as follows:
- The Monash School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine (SPHPM) focuses on epidemiology, biostatistics and clinical data management across the principal Research Themes.
- Major public health problems associated with infectious diseases and drugs and related behaviours are addressed by the Burnet Institute, which also endeavours to improve the health of people in low-income countries in Asia, the Pacific region and Africa.
- Baker Heart and Diabetes Institute maintains public health programs in cardiovascular disease, diabetes and Indigenous health.
